The background of Lizzie ward

Recently listened to a girl named Lizzie Ward tell her story about living on the block in Australia. Lizzie Ward says, "The most traumatic experience I've had on the block would be seeing people around me OD and not make it." She talks about seeing these made her feel and how she had to see the closest person to her, her mother, die from a drug overdose.
Addition to the drug problems on her block she also had a fear of her family being hurt by the police. she says she remembers being with friends and then seeing police coming down the streets at a fast paste and hitting people, she says she never knew weather the friends or people she knew were going to be hurt but sooner or later she was able to block out the violence.
